About Truett & Osborn Bike Drags
Celebrating 53 Legendary Years of Motorcycle Drag Racing
Scott Truett
Scott Truett quickly carved out his own path as a highly successful Pro Harley racer from the early 1990s through the 2000s. Following in his father's footsteps, Scott racked up numerous race wins and several championship-caliber seasons during that era. And through it all, Bonnie was right there beside him—supporting, guiding, and continuing the Truett legacy.
Mitch Brown
Top Fuel motorcycle drag racer Mitch Brown brings over 31 plus years of racing experience to the track. His passion was sparked in 1984 when he witnessed his first drag race—Neal Chance piloting a Funny Car in Wichita, KS.
Fourteen years later, Mitch earned his first win in 1998 at PMRA in the Super Gas class. Over the years, he not only competed but also operated the PMRA, eventually claiming a Top Gas Championship.
In 2007, a pivotal moment came when Mike Bahnmaier offered Mitch the opportunity to ride his Top Fuel bike. That partnership resulted in two Pro Fuel victories and marked a new chapter in Mitch’s racing journey.
Mitch is also a Nitro bike class winner at Truett and Osborn Bike Drags.
His career is defined by a steady climb through the ranks, always taking time to master each class and every detail of the machine beneath him—a true testament to patience, precision, and passion.
Paul Osborn
In the late 1960s, Paul Osborn and Bonnie Truett teamed up to open a speed shop dedicated to hot-rodding Harley-Davidson engines.
Truett & Osborn Cycle quickly became known for its stroker kits that delivered bigger, more powerful motors, as well as custom rolling chassis and a range of lightweight, performance-driven parts.
At Truett & Osborn cycle, speed is the business, horsepower is the product, and the mission has always been simple—build more horsepower than anyone else. For over 50 years, they've done exactly that.
The first Truett & Osborn Bike Drags event took place at Wichita International Raceway (Wichita, Kansas) in 1971, and it has grown to become the longest-running drag bike event in the world.
Bonnie Truett
It was at the Truett & Osborn Bike Drags where Bonnie Truett first had the chance to show his remarkable talent as an engine and chassis builder.
At the time, he had no idea that his name would eventually be etched into the national record books. Truett went on to set records under multiple sanctioning bodies, including the IDBA, and AHDRA, as well as at tracks all across the country.
Notably, Bonnie also crossed paths with the legendary Elmer Trett during the early days of Trett’s career in the 1970s.
Truett himself raced until 1984, when he chose to retire and focus on the Truett & Osborn Cycle Shop in Wichita, and continue building the legacy both on and off the track.
